Add Gratefulness to Your Morning Routine

I never finish my coffee in the mornings without reheating it at least twice. Unless I am desperate for something to stop me from being a major bitch because I’m tired and had no time for myself that morning. I love slow mornings. Extra emphasis on love. I find them peaceful. No matter what you have planned for your day, you are gifted the opportunity to start the day with a grateful heart. It helps me ground myself and ditch the anxious feeling that I need to figure out everything right then and there. I’ve been implementing gratefulness in my daily routine as an actual to-do on my to-do list; making it a conscious act in my day for quite awhile now.

We as humans tend to get caught up in the rush of every day life, becoming utterly consumed by living. Even though that’s not actually living. If you aren’t in the now, aware of the present moment, and appreciating it; you aren’t living. Or doing. Or helping. Or creating. The future and the past are of no use to us because they don’t exist! Yet in mostly everyone’s head, they do. And if you struggle with your mental health, living in does not exist land doesn’t help. Worrying, complaining, dwelling, comparing, negative self talk are all apart of ignoring life that you are gifted and what is around you.

Here’s the secret: Abundance is everywhere. It is all around you. And it is up to you to see it, to acknowledge it, and to express gratitude. A simple answer to a complicated question. Gratitude gives you something to smile about. Gratitude gives purpose. Your daily life isn’t making you miserable. Disregarding the beauty of your every day life is making you miserable (along with taking advantage of the beauty you are given). This took awhile to settle in with me and actually realizing that all we truly have is the Now. (HIGHLY recommend Eckhart Tolle’s ‘The Power of Now’) It’s an essential and is like a bible to me. The first step to being mindful and present in the moment is easier than you think. What abundance is around you that you are gifted with?

All the love,

xx
